IRENE F. JONES

{LEAD} Irene Fleetwood Jones, 70, of the 300 block of Hogarth St., died Friday in a Suffolk hospital.

Mrs. Jones was a native of Southampton County and the daughter of the late Nannie Stephens Fleetwood and Rufus Fleetwood. She was the widow of the late Russell Jones. She was a retired domestic worker and she was a member of Pleasant Shade Baptist Church and the Senior Usher Board, the Senior Choir, the Missionary and Deaconness Board. She was a member of the Mother's Club.

{REST} Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Nancy J. Jones and one son, James M. Jones, both of Franklin; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Mae Beale of Franklin; one brother, William Balmer of Jackson, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Shade Baptist Church by the Rev. T.L. Parker. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge.
