CECIL H. FUTRELL

{LEAD} Cecil Horace Futrell, 79, of the 4000 block of Weyanoke Drive, died Saturday, in a Suffolk nursing home

Mr. Futrell was born in Portsmouth. He was a retired molder from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 25 years and also Portsmouth Sheriff's Department as a captain where he was bailiff for Judge Baines courtroom. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of Portsmouth Moose Lodge 898 and also a member of Bide-a-Wee Golf Club.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Shepherd Futrell; three daughters, Jean F. Wimbrough and Dottie F. Hodges, both of Portsmouth and Katherine F. Westbrook of Washington, N.C.; a son, Robert S. Futrell of Portsmouth; a sister, Virginia F. Ammons of Destin, Fla.; a brother, Robert E. Futrell of Odessa, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Oak Grove Cemetery by the Rev. Phillip J. Parker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and at the home of his daughter, Jean Wimbrough, 126 River Point Crescent, Portsmouth at all other times.
