LETTIE V. EDWARDS

{LEAD} Lettie V. Edwards, 92, of the 800 block of Pacific Ave., died June 11, 1994, in a Portsmouth nursing home.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Smythe County, Va. She had worked in NNSY for four years from Oct. 1943-1947 and also worked as a nurses aid for seven years in Portsmouth General Hospital. She was the widow of Bluford M. Edwards and was a member of Surry Street Baptist Church.

{REST} Survivors include a daughter, Melba Batchelor of Portsmouth; two sons, Lawrence H. Edwards and Charles E. Edwards, both of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Jasper Morris. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
