JERE CATES WHITTED

{LEAD} Jere Cates Whitted, 39, of Littleton, Colo., died June 9, 1994.

He was born April 26, 1955, in Ahoskie, N.C., the son of Mary Elizabeth Cates Whitted and the late Graham B. Whitted, Jr. of Roxobel, N.C.

{REST} Mr. Whitted attended schools in Bertie County and later U.N.C. at Greensboro. After serving four years in the United States Air Force, he moved to the western United States, living in Idaho and more recently in Colorado. He was executive marketing director with Cigna Property and Casualty, Denver.

Survivors include his wife, Sari Walt Whitted; son, Dillon Cates; and daughter, Alicen Claire of the home in Littleton, Colo.; his mother of Roxobel; brother, Graham B. Whitted III and wife, Shirley, of Irvine, Calif.; sister, Martha Lee W. Smith and husband, Henry of Wake Forest, N.C.; sister, Carrie W. Kearney and husband, Henry of Robersonville, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Dalton and Brett Ivey, Graham IV, Catherine, Rita and James Whitted, and Henry IV, Liz, and Lee Kearney.

A funeral service was held in Littleton, Colo. on Monday, June 13. Local memorial services will be Wednesday, June 15 at 3 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Roxobel.
