Mr. Maynard was born in Raleigh, N.C. He was the owner of Southern States Glass Co. in Richmond, Va., and Maynard's Auto Glass in Norfolk. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Raleigh. He was a former member of the Ward's Corner Lion's Club and Optimist Club.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Maynard of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Vanessa Schoener of Myerstown, Pa., and Amanda Maynard of Virginia Beach; two sons, Jimmy Maynard of Norfolk and Rand Maynard of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by Pastor Randall Childress. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family at the residence.
