RORIE H. COPELAND

{LEAD} Rorie Harvey Copeland, 81, of Britton St., a retired school principal, died June 14, 1994, in Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

Mr. Copeland, a native of Hertford County, N.C, was a graduate of Wake Forest University and was retired from the North Carolina Public School System. He was a member, former deacon and Sunday School teacher of Colerain Baptist Church and a member of Wiccacon Masonic Lodge (NU)240, AF & AM, and Byrd Hunt Club. He was the widower of Pearl Baggett Copeland.

{REST} Survivors include three daughters, Lynda C. Hollowell and Jo Ann Lowe, both of Edenton, and Anita Hoggard of Colerain; one son, Roy H. Copeland of Colerain; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, George A. Copeland.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Colerain Baptist Church by the Rev. Lamar Sentell. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Colerain Rescue Squad or Wiccacon Masonic Lodge (NU)240, AF & AM, Colerain, N.C. 27924.
