ANOTHER FATAL WRECK ON SHORE DRIVE\

{LEAD} A Norfolk high school student was killed and another was injured in a high-speed crash on Shore Drive on Tuesday, the second deadly accident on the road in three days.

The crash was the 57th fatality on Shore Drive, the state's deadliest road, since 1977.

{REST} The accident killed Arvin Lee, 17, a Booker T. Washington High student who lived in the 900 block of Ingleside Drive in Norfolk. Lee is the third high school student to die in a Shore Drive crash in two months.

Lee was the passenger in a Honda Accord that police said went out of control ``at an extremely high rate of speed.'' The car slammed into a stand of trees, knocking two over and crushing Lee in the front passenger's seat.

The driver, Nelson Aguilar, 19, is in Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in fair condition, police spokesman Mike Carey said. Aguilar, who lives in the 3500 block of Riverside Drive in Norfolk, may be charged, Carey said. ``Some accidents are nonsurvivable,'' he said. ``This is definitely one of those accidents.''

The Honda had temporary license plates that showed it was bought two weeks ago from a Virginia Beach used-car dealer.

It took rescue workers about an hour to free the passenger, who died on impact, from the mangled wreckage. The accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m., and the road was closed more than three hours.

Carey declined to say exactly how fast the car was traveling because the crash is under investigation. He did say that the car was traveling substantially faster than the 55 mph speed limit.

On Sunday, 25-year-old Navy man Brian K. Viner of Rutland, Mass., was killed crossing Shore Drive near Starfish Road when he was hit by a car. On April 12, two Cox High School freshmen - Marianne Olivieri, 15, and Laine N. Schroeder, 14 - were killed in a high-speed crash on Shore Drive.
