NORFOLK SCHOOL BOARD RESCHEDULES MEETING

{LEAD} Because of scheduling conflicts, the Norfolk School Board will start its Thursday monthly meeting two hours later than usual, at 11 a.m., administration officials said Tuesday.

A highlight of Thursday's meeting will be the unveiling of a report on ways to improve academic achievement among African-American students. A task force made up of principals, school administrators and civic and government officials spent nine months developing recommendations.

{REST} Superintendent Roy D. Nichols Jr. is expected to release to the School Board his plan of action based on the task-force report.
