CLAIRE M. JOPSON

{LEAD} Claire Mason Jopson, 85, of the 100 block of Charlotte Drive, died Wednesday, June 15, 1994, in a Suffolk nursing home.

Mrs. Jopson was a native of Gilroy, Calif., and a resident of Portsmouth for 50 years. She was the daughter of the late William and Effie S. Mason. She was associated with the Quiet Shoppe Saddlery in Churchland and was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. She was a former member of Richard Dale Woman's Club and Spade & Trowel Garden Club.

{REST} Survivors include her husband, Retired Lt. Cmdr. Charles A. Jopson; one daughter, Barbara M. Jordan and husband, Stanley H., of Chesapeake; one granddaughter, Cynthia H. Walker and husband, Cosmo D., of Chesapeake; and one sister, Marjorie Ward of Seattle.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
