TWO REMAIN CRITICAL

{LEAD} The Virginia Beach physician and the Sentara Health Systems executive struck by lightning Tuesday remained hospitalized Wednesday.

Mark C. Rheins, 38, was listed in critical but stable condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, said a hospital spokesperson.

{REST} Rheins is a vice president at Sentara Norfolk General.

Dr. Hae K. Koh, 50, was listed in critical condition at Chesapeake General Hospital.

Koh is a physician who is on the medical staff at Sentara Bayside Hospital in Virginia Beach.

Rheins and Koh were on the third hole at Greenbrier Country Club on Tuesday afternoon when lightning struck in the fairway about 180 yards from the tee.

Both were burned and knocked to the ground. They were given cardiopulmonary resuscitation by other golfers. They were among about 150 health-care professionals playing in the annual Sentara medical staff golf tournament.
