WOMAN'S BODY IDENTIFIED

{LEAD} A woman found dead on a secluded path in rural Suffolk was identified Wednesday as 25-year-old Christine Hunt of Portsmouth.

An autopsy indicated that Hunt died early Tuesday morning of a gunshot of the head, police said. Detectives were calling the death a murder, possibly drug-related.

{REST} Hunt's body was found about 6a.m. Tuesday by a passer-by, who saw her lying on a gravel path in the Pughsville community, just southwest of the I-664 interchange with Pughsville Road.

The victim was identified Wednesday from fingerprints, which were on file in Portsmouth from an arrest on forgery charges, police said.

Hunt sometimes used the name Christine Windley, they said.

Police would not release details of their investigation but said Hunt was last seen alive about 5 p.m. Monday in the Lincoln Park area of Portsmouth.

They asked anyone with information about the crime to call Suffolk police at 925-6350.
