Tired of school? No. Over it? Uh-uh. Lazy? No way.
Tiffany, a senior at Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk, has stayed busy for the past four months, studying, reading hundreds of books and watching history videos to help co-write, ``I Ain't Got Long to Stay Here,'' a play about two runaway female slaves.
Besides co-writing the play, Tiffany co-directed and co-starred in it as Anna, one of the two slaves.
{REST} In May, the play won first place in the local contest at Old Dominion University, and another first at the regional level at the University of Virginia.
This week, Tiffany traveled to the University of Maryland at College Park to perform the play for the National History Day theater competition, where she competed against 100 different teams.
This summer, Tiffany plans to continue to hostess at Chi-Chi's so she can save money for North Carolina A&T, where in the fall, she will double major in theatre and speech education and political science. She hopes to become a working actress and one day, would like to have her own teenage theater troupe to perform at schools all over the world.
