Mr. Linton was born in Norfolk and was employed with Hampton Motor Corp. in Hampton. He was a member of Norview Masonic Lodge (NU)113, Khedive Shrine Temple, Grice Commandery (NU)16, Royal Arch Chapter (NU)62 and was an Army veteran of World War II.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, June N. Linton; two daughters, Leigh Linton Smit and her husband, Raymond J. Smit, of Virginia Beach and Lynn Linton Diggs and her husband, William S. ``Billy'' Diggs III, of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; one son, John Scott Linton and his wife, Athena M. Linton, of Newport News; an aunt, Mrs. Mildred Absalom Seymour of Virginia Beach; three cousins, Mildred Absalom Midgett, Margaret Jones Mosely and Wilma H. ``Snooky'' Jones; grandchildren, Nicole, Brittany, Kimberly, Brandon John Trader and Brianna, to be born in August; and his longtime friend and employer, Lewis Wood. He was the son of the late Thomas B. Linton Sr. and Helen Jones Linton and was grandson of the late Harry W. and Lydia Lambert Jones.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Masonic rites, by the Rev. John DeCarmo. The family will receive friends in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Donations may be made to any children's hospital or Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
