Mrs. Arline was born in Murfreesboro, N.C., daughter of the late Robert I. and Ruth Winborne Stewart. She was employed at Coopers Lighting as a linewoman. She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, (NU)2 Usher Board, former Scout leader and on the Trustee Wives Board. She was also a member of Disabled American Veterans Women's Auxiliary, Vietnam Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
{REST} Survivors include her husband, James C. Arline Sr.; three daughters, Melissa Harvey of Newport News, Jacinta Arline and Necole Stewart, both of Suffolk; a foster daughter, Shequita Stewart of Suffolk; a son, James C. Arline Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Patricia Drake of Chesapeake and Regina Dawson of Long Island, N.Y.; three brothers, Robert Stewart Jr. of Winton, N.C., Horace Stewart of Detroit and McKinley Epps of Newark, N.J.; two aunts; a son-in-law, David Harvey; daughter-in-law, Maria C. Arline; six brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; mother-in-law, Essie Arline of Suffolk; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Metropolitan Baptist Church by Dr. Melvin R. Boone. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. There will be no public viewing at all. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
