He was born in Norfolk and was a minister of several Hampton Roads churches. He was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ, Norfolk. He was a retired accounting clerk from the Naval Air Rework Facility after 34 years and was a World War II veteran.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, Geneva S. Harris; three daughters, Wilhelmina Hart and Lila Harris, both of Norfolk, and Vera Stephens of Chesapeake; two sons, Ralph Harris Jr. of Bedford, Va. and Thaddeus Harris of Philadelphia; six grandchildren; two stepdaughters; and one stepson.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Thomas AMEZ Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. G.L. Scott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
