RUTH SIMMONS GIMBERT

{LEAD} Ruth Simmons Gimbert, 78, of Virginia Beach, a retired teacher, died June 17, 1994, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mrs. Gimbert was a native of Winston Salem, North Carolina. She was retired after 30 years with the Virginia Beach School System as a teacher. She was the widow of Houston P. Gimbert.

{REST} Survivors include one daughter, Vicky Gimbert Durie of Lockport, New York; one son, John W. Gimbert of Virginia Beach; her mother, Mayme B. Simmons of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 21, 1994 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Reverend Larry Shoaf. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
