Dr. Paulette was born in Newsoms, Va., raised in Smithfield and was a Baptist.
{REST} For more than 40 years, he served pastorates in Baltimore, Md., Berryville, Va., Mt. Airy, N.C., Staunton, Va., and Washington, D.C. In 1964, the University of Richmond conferred upon him the Doctor of Divinity degree. He served as trustee of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Crozer Seminary. He retired in Va. Beach and was a member of King's Grant Baptist Church.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Jeanne P. French of Nellysford, Va., and Edie P. Crouch of Va. Beach, one son, Richard C. Paulette, Jr. of Hickory, N.C., eight grandchildren, a sister, Martha P. Moore of Richmond, Va., and a brother, Lacy F. Paulette, Jr. of Charlottesville, Va.
A funeral will be conducted today at 10:30 a.m. at King's Grant Baptist Church by the Rev. Jerry Holcomb, Dr. Paul B. Watlington and Dr. William Lumpkin. Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Smithfield, Va. The family will receive friends at the church from 9-10:30 today.
Memorial donations may be made to King's Grant Baptist Church or Parkinson's Foundation. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is handling arrangements.
