WHALEBONE CENTER EXPANDING

{LEAD} Work has begun on a new expanded Whalebone Junction Information and Welcome Center. The new facility, with more than 400 square feet of enclosed space and decks, will replace a much smaller kiosk now being used.

The project is being funded through a $30,000 grant from the Dare County Tourist Bureau. It is being constructed by National Park Service employees.
