Mrs. Matthews was born in Atlantic City, N.J. She was a member of Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church.
{REST} Survivors include her husband, Clinton D. Matthews; four daughters, Eva L. Matthews, Gail E. Matthews, Yvonne A. Lassiter and Jerroleen T. Bolton, all of Virginia Beach; three sons, Donald Matthews of New York City, Clinton E. Matthews of Virginia Beach, and Rodney Matthews of Camden, N.J.; and two brothers, Joseph Curry of Pleasantville, N.J. and Eugene Murray of Hartford, Conn. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sons-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Leonard. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. Viewing will be held Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Twilight Funeral Home, 29th and Granby Street, Norfolk. Family members will be present.
