WEEKLY SALARIES UP 2.9 PERCENT IN HAMPTON ROADS

{LEAD} At $426 a week, this region's average weekly pay was near the bottom of the most recent Virginia Employment Commission survey, for the third quarter of 1993. It ranged from $403 a week in Danville to $614 a week in Northern Virginia, the commission reported. The Danville figure was up 4.9 percent from the year-earlier level, while Northern Virginia's figure was up 3.4 percent. Figures for other metropolitan areas included in the survey:

Richmond-Petersburg, $496 a week, up 3.8 percent.

{REST} Charlottesville, $444 a week, up 4 percent.

Roanoke, $434 a week, up 4.3 percent.

Lynchburg, $429 a week, up 6.7 percent.
