Hall said he considered the idea, but decided to pass on the opportunity because he was studying business at the College of William and Mary.
{REST} Hall, now 68, said he's never regretted that decision.
``I didn't have the size that was needed,'' he said recently. ``I only weighed 140 pounds at that time. I just don't think I would have made it very far in professional baseball.''
But Hall has made a career out of working in various financial positions.
Right now, he's the business manager for Zuni Presbyterian Center, where he's worked for eight years.
``I love it,'' he said. ``I get to administer the budget, and see that every department is on schedule with their finances and budget.
``And I also get to prepare the budget - $1.2 million here,'' he said.
Currently, there are 52 clients at the center and about 34 full-time employees.
Hall said he plans to retire from his position in December, teaching college business courses at Paul D. Camp Community College on a part-time basis.
