EDWARD L. RODGERS

{LEAD} Edward Lee Rodgers, 81, of P.O. Box 113, known to everyone as ``Daddy Babb,'' died June 17, 1994, in the home of his daughter, Virginia Waters, after a short illness.

Mr. Rodgers was a native of Southampton County. He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis Rodgers and Geneva Babb. He was the widow of Donzella H. Rodgers. He was a farmer for 50 years and also a truck driver. He retired from Kirks Lumber Co. after 15 years. He was a deacon of First Baptist Burdette.

{REST} Survivors include four daughters, Annie Liggins of East Orange, N.J., and Virginia Waters, Donzella Jordan and Lelia Blanche Gay, all of Windsor, Va.; three brothers, Robert Warren of Jamaica, N.Y., Joe Warren of Marion, S.C., and Jasper Warren of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Lucille Dunn of Jamaica, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home by the Rev. James H. Hampton. Burial will be in Chapel Grove Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Virginia Waters, 10479 Five Fork Road, Windsor, Va.
