Mr. Nagy was a native of Pocahontas, Va. He had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard Shop 64 as a shipwright after 35 years. He was a charter member of United Congregational Christian Church, Portsmouth, Local 1086 Carpenters Union and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Johnson Nagy; three daughters, Barbara N. Williams of Clifton, Va., Kathy N. Mruk of Montville, N.J. and Rosemary N. Thornton of Portsmouth; a son, Bill M. Nagy Jr. of Portsmouth; five sisters, Irene Smorlick, Dorothy Sayko and Frances Borbas, all of Pocahontas, Va., and Clydie Kiser of Beckley, W.Va., and Anna Leigh Williams of Florida; two brothers, Gaspire ``Frog'' L. Nagy and Frank Nagy, both of Portsmouth; and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Dolan A. Talbert. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
