Mr. Perry was a native of Franklin and made his home in the community of Black Creek. He was a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church (United Church of Christ). He was employed by the City of Franklin as senior superintendent of Public Works. Mr. Perry was a member of the Southampton Academy graduating Class of 1975 and attended Old Dominion University.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, Cherie Bly Perry of Black Creek, and his father, Thomas L. Perry of Sedley. Other survivors are his brothers, Thomas L. Perry, Jr. of Franklin; Richard M. Perry of Abell, Md.; and George E. Perry of Hampton. Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene Bass Perry.
The family will receive visitors at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Norris Bly at 34322 Burdette Road (Hwy 619) in Black Creek from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Courtland on Thursday, June 23 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Revs. Lafayette Wilkins and Wayne Underwood.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
