He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Helen Gordon Dobken; his daughter, Myrna Kay Dobken; his sister, Elaine Dobken Lichty of Virginia Beach; his brother, Harold Dobken of Charlotte, N.C.;
{REST} Dr. Dobken attended St. John's University in New York and the College of William and Mary, Norfolk division. He graduated from Pennsylvania State College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Dr. Dobken maintained an optometric practice for over 30 years in Richmond. He was a member of the American and Virginia Optometric Societies, Temple Beth-El and the Lakeside Country Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Beth-El, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Massey Cancer Center at The Medical College of Virginia. Arrangements are being handled by the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home.
