REV. IVEY J. CARTER

{LEAD} The Rev. Ivey Jackson Carter, 82, of the 500 block of E. Bayview Blvd., a retired Freewill Baptist minister, died June 23, 1994, in his residence.

Rev. Carter was born in Lenior County, N.C., and was a member of Hyde Park Freewill Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Mary I. Carter; one daughter, Deborah A. Schofield of Virginia Beach; one sister, Margaret Croom of Kinston, N.C.; and one grandson, William R. Schofield of Norfolk.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Terry Beck of Hyde Park Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
