WILBUR L. SPENCER

{LEAD} Wilbur L. Spencer, 82, of the 1100 block of Hazel Ave., died June 24, 1994, in Norfolk.

Mr. Spencer was born in Norfolk, and was the widower of Katharine Moore Spencer. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 64, as a joiner after 30 years. He was also the former owner of Spencer Grocery Store and former co-owner of Duke and Spencer Grocery Store. He was a member of Oaklette United Methodist Church.

{REST} Survivors include one sister, Hortense Spencer Royster of Chesapeake; one brother, Francis F. Spencer of North Port, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Gene C. Gee. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
