RUTH H. SMITH

{LEAD} Ruth Hutchins Smith, 73, of the 8400 block of Woodcock St., died June 24, 1994, in her residence.

Mrs. Smith was born in Tarboro, N.C., and was a member of West Park Presbyterian Church in New York City.

{REST} Survivors include four daughters, Sandra S. Stutz and Mary Jo Harrell, both of Norfolk, Brenda J. Johnson of Chesapeake and Sharon H. Anderton of Windsor, N.C.; two sons, Richard F. Smith of Norfolk and Fred R. Smith of Chesapeake; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2p.m. Monday in Cox Funeral Home by the Rev. David Libengood. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday to receive friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
