Mr. Brickhouse was born in Columbia, N.C., and was the widower of Naomi Mariah Rouson Brickhouse. He retired six years ago from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 32 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a former member of the Garden of Prayer Temple COGIC, Portsmouth, and was a member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Holiness Church, Watch Care and the Men's Choir.
{REST} Survivors include three daughters, Tina Lawton of Portsmouth, Claudia Pitt of Chesapeake and Linetta Brickhouse of Norfolk; six sons, Otis Brickhouse of Philadelphia, Samuel Brickhouse of Baltimore, Daniel Brickhouse and Dennis Earl Brickhouse, both of Norfolk, Walter Allen Brickhouse of Columbia, S.C., and Wirtie N. Brickhouse of Chesapeake; 25 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Garden of Prayer Temple COGIC, Portsmouth, by Bishop L.E. Willis. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Family and friends will assemble at 3245 Hancock Drive, Chesapeake, at 12:45 p.m. Sunday for the processional to the church.
