CONTRARY TO INSTINCT

{LEAD} ``Giving Up Your Baby'' (Daily Break, June 14) was supportive of adoption. The subhead, though, was almost a condemnation of a mother who would make this choice for her baby.

If it is ``against every natural maternal instinct'' to give your baby to a loving couple that desperately wants a child, what does it do to the maternal instinct of a girl who willingly chooses to have her baby killed through abortion?

{REST} How much greater offense to any maternal feelings can there be? Will the media ever be honest about the depression, contemplated suicides and guilt caused by the decision to kill your own baby?
