ABANDON PRIVATIZATION

{LEAD} Your new editorial page editor struck a nerve too hard when he came out in favor of privatization of some public schools, something we've been fighting. I hope Superintendent Trumble will bow to public pressure and abandon the idea.

Also, I don't like many of the new columnists. Some I never heard of. I like Richard Cohen, Mike Royko, Clarence Page, William Raspberry, Ellen Goodman. Cal Thomas, among others of his ilk, makes my flesh crawl.
