JESSE E. DAVIS

{LEAD} Jesse Earl Davis, 92, of the 400 block of Felton Road, a retired plumber, died June 26, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Davis was a native of Nansemond County and was the widower of Frances Whitehurst Davis. He was a Methodist and a member of Plumbers Local Union (NU)690, Washington Masonic Lodge (NU)59 and Scottish Rite-Valley of Philadelphia.

{REST} Survivors include three nieces, Frances Kauffman of Portsmouth and Merrell E. Quillin and Lucille A. Peed, both of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Cemetery, Greenville, N.C. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The body will then be shipped to Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville, N.C., for services and burial. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
