JAMES B. TWYMAN

{LEAD} Dr. James Baker Twyman, 80, of Charlottesville, passed away Friday, June 24, 1994, at Colonnades Health Care Center.

He was born June 15, 1914, in Charlottesville, son of the late Frederick William Twyman and Sallie Whitlock Baker Twyman.

{REST} He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia, completed his internship at Yale University Hospital and residency at Western Reserve University's Lakeside Hospital in Cleveland.

Dr. Twyman was a veteran of World War II serving with the 35th Field Hospital in Italy, and as a medical section chief at Oliver General Hospital in Augusta, Ga., and at Ashford General Hospital in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.

He is survived by three children, Frederick William Twyman III of Virginia Beach, Sallie Baker Twyman Sims of Charlottesville and Bess Twyman Munigle of Hartford, Conn.; four granddaughters and one grandson. Granddaughters, Mildred Healey Twyman and Tracey Baker Twyman, and grandson, James Baker Twyman II, all reside in Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 28, at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville, Va. Interment will be private.

Dr. Twyman's family suggest that donations may be made to the Martha Jefferson Hospital Building Fund.
