JOYCE PLEDGER FRANCIS

{LEAD} Joyce Pledger Francis, 49, died Friday, June 24, in a local hospital.

A homemaker and a member of the Roanoke Acres Church of Christ, Mrs. Francis was the daughter of the late Joseph Haywood Pledger and Mavis Etheridge Pledger Curles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Celdon Francis Sr.

{REST} Survivors include two sons, Leonard Celdon Francis Jr. of Manteo and Eric Lewis Francis of Norfolk; three sisters, Joan Kelly of Manns Harbor, Janet Wilson and Janice Mueller, both of Manteo; and one brother, Joseph Pledger of Wanchese.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Twiford Colony Chapel by the Rev. Les Wilkerson. Burial will be in the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Manns Harbor. Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo, is handling arrangements.
