ALLIE H. JOHNSON

{LEAD} Allie Mae Harrell Johnson, 69, of the 5900 block of Godwin Blvd., retired co-owner and operator of Johnson Self Service, died June 27, 1994, in Maryview Medical Center.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Nansemond County, and was retired after 38 years. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Suffolk, and the Russell Bible Class.

{REST} Survivors include her husband, Jesse James ``J.J.'' Johnson Sr.; two daughters, Bessie Lynne Johnson of Suffolk and Mary Kathryn J. Bariteau of Norfolk; three sons, Jesse J. Johnson Jr. of Suffolk, Phillip C. Johnson of Chesapeake and Stephen H. Johnson of Portsmouth; one sister, Beatrice H. Young of Portsmouth; one brother, Sydney Harrell of Suffolk; and four grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. E. Lane Wadsworth. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family in Hill Funeral Home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home and other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Suffolk Unit, P.O. Box 1413, Suffolk, Va. 23439-1413.
