Mr. Singleton was born in Norfolk and was a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church and the Willoughby Civic League. He was retired from the City of Norfolk after 30 years and was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
{REST} Survivors include his wife, Nancy Singleton; two daughters, Nancy Singleton and Becky Owens, both of Norfolk; three sons, Kenny Singleton of Millersville, Md., Barney Singleton of Norfolk and John Singleton of Daytona Beach, Fla.; his mother, Helen N. Singleton of Norfolk; one brother, Nauman Singleton of Norfolk; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Daniel K. Ivey. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Miles Memorial United Methodist Church.
