CHARLES C. GARDNER SR.

{LEAD} Charles Chesley Gardner Sr., 71, of the 2100 block of Silbert Road, died Tuesday, June 28, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Gardner was born in Murfreesboro, N.C., and was a retired manager of Getem Manufacturing. He had served the company for over 44 years. He was a member of Willowwood Presbyterian Church and also attended Coleman Place Chapel.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Futrell Gardner; one daughter, Genny G. Majette of Virginia Beach; one son, Charles C. Gardner of Richmond; one sister, Virginia G. Becker of Martinsville; and four grandchildren, Michele and Holly Majette of Virginia Beach and Ryan and Grant Gardner of Richmond.

A chapel service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Cox Funeral Home by the Rev. Frank E. Drake and the Rev. Velma R. Smith. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Willowwood Presbyterian Church, 1715 Willow Wood Drive, Norfolk, Va. 23509.
