HENRY A. EDWARDS SR.

{LEAD} Henry A. Edwards Sr., 57, of the 100 block of Holland Drive, a retired construction worker, died June 27, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Edwards was born in Savannah, Ga., and was a Baptist. He was retired from Sessoms Contracting Co., Virginia Beach. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of 12 years.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Joanne F. Edwards; two daughters, Wanda G. Bolton of Gatesville, N.C. and Shirley Edwards of Boston; five sons, Chester B. Cowart Jr. and Kevin S. Edwards, both of Virginia Beach, Charles R. Cowart of Gatesville, Henry A. Edwards Jr. of Chesapeake and E.J. Edwards of Boston; two sisters; two brothers; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, by the Rev. Robert Pittman. Burial will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends at the residence, 184 Holland Drive, following the service. The family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
