From 5:30 to 8:30 tonight the five-man group - they come from no island and there is no boy - will play music to suit varied tastes.
{REST} Mostly, though, it is rock - the lighter variety - Paul Simon, Van Morrison, Joe Cocker, Wilson Pickett, The Beatles and The Stones as examples.
Island Boy concentrates on the music of the 1960s to the 1980s, adding some Caribbean flavor and jazz-styled rhythm and blues.
The group was formed in 1992 but its members are Hampton Roads vets on the music scene, having worked with local rock 'n' roll, jazz and country acts.
For the most part they perform locally, but they do claim one prestigious out-of-town gig - Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Cafe in Key West.
Tonight the guitar, bass, saxophone, piano and keyboard artists return to Franklin.
