GOOD MUSIC, BAD REVIEW

{LEAD} On June 6, I attended the Chamberfest at the Wells Theater. It was a bonus concert for early subscribers to the Feldman Chamber Music series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, as did many others I have spoken to since. Then came Mark Mobley's disastrous review.

The only thing true in his review is that the air conditioning did not work and it was uncomfortable in the auditorium. But how much more trying must it have been for the musicians who carried on bravely under extra-bright and hot lights. This unusual temperature also affected their instruments, and frequent tunings were necessary.

{REST} It was a rare treat to hear various performing groups of the area in one concert that was varied and interesting. I cannot believe anyone knowledgeable enough to critique music would have to tear it down as Mr. Mobley did. Mr. Mobley's review was unfair.

I shall try to hear as many of these fine groups as I can in the coming season and am very grateful to all of them for having given us such an enjoyable evening of good music.
