Mary Ellen Boyersmith Clough, 89, formerly of Virginia Beach, and widow of Carroll G. Clough, died June 15, 1994, at Pinnacle Care Nursing Center, Seneca, S.C.
She was born on June 17, 1904, in Oil City, Pa., the daughter of the late James and Mary Heasley Boyersmith. She was a graduate of Clarion College, Clarion, Pa., and taught elementary school in Yonkers, N.Y., for many years.
After moving with her husband to Chesapeake Beach, Va., in the mid-1930s, she became an active member of Haygood United Methodist Church. She served as Sunday School director and teacher.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. William Hamlin Bosworth of Hasting-on-Hudson, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, on Tuesday, July 5, 1994, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The service will be held at Haygood United Methodist Church Wednesday, July 6, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Haygood United Methodist Church, 4713 Haygood Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23455.
