THOMAS W. PARKER

Thomas Wesley Parker, 80, of R.F.D. 1, Box 304, a retired farmer, died July 1, 1994, in Obici Hospital, Suffolk.

Mr. Parker was born in Gates. He was a member of Kittrell United Methodist Church, charter member of Gates Ruritan Club and member of the Gates Couples Club.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Umphlett Parker; one daughter, Marian P. Brinkley of Gates; one sister, Nell P. Stephenson of Rich Square; three brothers, Tim Parker and Murray Parker, both of Gates, and Dr. Earl Parker of Franklinton; two grandchildren, Vernon Brinkley and Kendree Brinkley; and a daughter-in-law, Diana H.P. Roberts of Atlanta. He was predeceased by his parents, Emma Dudley Parker and Thomas Brown Parker, and a son, Thomas Vernon Parker.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Ann Giles Benson and the Rev. Billy Presley. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at the home and suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Kittrell United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Gates County Rescue Squad or a charity of choice.
