E. Norfleet ``Zeke'' Johnson, 73, of the 100 block of S. Arden Circle, a retired vice president of Shulman & Co., died June 30, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mr. Johnson was born in Ivor and was retired from Shulman & Co. after 37 years. He was a member of Christian Temple. He served his country in World War II in the 129th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army as a tech sergeant. Mr. Johnson was a member of Ivor Masonic Lodge (NU)291; Royal Arch Chapter (NU)1; York Rite; Knights Templar; Norfolk Khedive Shrine Temple; Grice Commandery (NU)016; past Patron of the Elizabeth Chapter (NU)45 Order of the Eastern Star; past Watchmen of Shepherds-Tidewater Shrine (NU)4; past Royal Patron Mace Court (NU)9 Order of the Amarenth; member of the Faith Court (NU)12, Newport News; Tidewater Lost Chords of the American Cancer Society; and was also affiliated with the Eggleston Center for many years.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 46 years, Clarice G. Johnson; one daughter, Jean J. Segal and her husband, Fred, of Norfolk; two sons, Joe Johnson and his wife, Peggy, of Elizabeth City and Jeffrey Johnson of Norfolk; two sisters, Natalie Morrisette of Enfield, N.C. and Sarah Paulsen of Paso Robles, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Jason Segal and Sarah Johnson, both of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Donald L. Kirkbride and the Rev. Richard E. Prince. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
Norfleet shall long be remembered for his kind, smiling, friendly way, his love for all people and his family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lost Chords of the American Cancer Society or the Eggleston Center.
