Many offices will be closed and services not provided Monday, the Fourth of July holiday.
Alcohol Beverage Control stores in the Albemarle region will be open today but closed Monday.
Banks will be closed Monday, but automatic teller machines will remain available.
The Division of Motor Vehicles will be closed Monday, as will all state offices. City, county and federal offices will be closed.
The U.S. Postal Service will not provide mail delivery or window service on July 4th; however, lobbies in most branches will be open for access to mailboxes and self-service stamp machines.
Public libraries in most localities will be closed today through Monday.
Senior centers will be closed Monday.
The InterCounty Public Transportation Authority will not provide bus service Monday.
Landfills and recycling centers in most areas will be closed. Camden and Perquimans counties are the exceptions, where the dump site and ``convenience centers'' in Perquimans and recycling centers in Camden will be open Monday.
Residential garbage will not be picked up Monday in Dare County, Edenton or Elizabeth City. Trash pickup will take place in the towns of Hertford and Ahoskie.
In Ahoskie, curbside trash collection will continue until the trucks are full. Those not serviced Monday will have their trash picked up Tuesday.
In Dare County and Elizabeth City, trash from Monday's curbside customers will not be collected until Tuesday.
On Edenton's east side, Monday's trash will be picked up Tuesday; the west side will be serviced Wednesday. A normal schedule resumes Thursday.
State parks will be open Monday.
Most department stores, large grocers and chain restaurants will be open at least part of July 4th. Some smaller retailers and eateries may close for the holiday.
The Virginian-Pilot news and advertising departments will be closed. The North Carolina circulation offices will be open until 10 a.m. Monday. by CNB
