A 16-year-old died Friday after being shot in an attempted robbery Thursday night, police said.
Jormel Dennis, of the 1800 block of Newton Road, died at 11:03 a.m. Friday. He was found lying on the ground with a single gunshot wound at 11:45 p.m. Thursday at Demetro Drive and Newton Road.
Police are looking for two people who left in a two-door sedan with Virginia tags. Both are thought to be about 16 or 17 years old.
One is a black male who has close-cut hair and a dark complexion, and was wearing a black, flat cap with a small bill. He wore a short-sleeved shirt and a thin, black vest. The other is a black male with a light complexion and acne marks on his face. He has short hair and was wearing a turquoise, yellow and white shirt, a bright green windbreaker, shorts and tennis shoes.
