JAY D.A. BARR

Jay David Adelston Barr, 57, died Saturday July 2, 1994, in his home.

Mr. Barr was a native of Norfolk, Va., and graduated from the University of Virginia, the London School of Economics and the University of Virginia Law School. He was Chairman of the Board of Cofers Inc., a design firm, which he owned with his wife. He served in the U.S. Navy and on various civic boards, including the founding boards of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Public Policy and Nauticus. Mr. Barr was a member of Congregation Beth El in Norfolk.

Survivors include his wife, Clay Hofheimer Barr, 2 daughters, Philippa Elise Barr of New York City and Elena Ann Hofheimer Barr of Dallas, Texas.

A Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. today at Congregation Beth El by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Rabbi Lawrence A. Forman and Cantor Jacob Tessler. Burial will be Private.

The family will receive friends at their residence from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 4, and Tuesday, July 5, 1994. Memorial donations may be made to the Jay D.A. Barr Art Fund of Congregation Beth El or the American Cancer Society.
