JULIA J. WHITE

Julia Jenkins White, 89, of the 100 block of Mill Lane, a homemaker, died July 1, 1994, in Obici Hospital.

Mrs. White was born in Gates County, N.C. She was a member of Whaleyville United Methodist Church in Suffolk and was the widow of Willie D. White.

Survivors include a daughter, Ludie W. Edmonds of Scotland Neck, N.C.; six sons, John W. White of Suffolk, Thomas E. White of Columbia, S.C., Herman C. White of Portsmouth, A. Lee White of Chesapeake, William E. White of Virginia Beach and Bruce M. White of Franklin, Va.; three sisters, Rachel J. Bradshaw of Carrsville, Va., Martha J. Wilkins of Corapeake, N.C., and Addie Mae J. Turner of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Axum Jenkins of Eure, N.C.; 30 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth Phelps Jenkins and Elisha Thomas Jenkins.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Whaleyville United Methodist Church by the Rev. E. Lane Wadsworth. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will be at the home of John W. White, 1108 Proctor St., Suffolk. Memorials: Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
