BETTY P. GIBBS

Betty Jane Patterson Gibbs, 66, of the 700 block of Humphries Lane, Chesapeake, died Saturday July 2, 1994 at her residence.

She was born in Athens Georgia. She was a homemaker and was a member of Greenbrier Christian Fellowship Church.

She was the wife of the late Howard Thomas Gibbs, Sr. and the daughter of the late Guy C. Patterson, Sr.

Survivors include her mother, Christine Bevers Brooks of Georgia. two daughters: Sandra Roundtree and Patricia Walker, both of Chesapeake; three sons: Howard Thomas Gibbs Jr. of Chesapeake; Frankie Sarrow of Macon Georgia; Timmy Sarrow of Florida. six sisters: Nell Gesiewski of Norfolk, Va.; Jean Chapman of Athens, Ga.; Linda Sawyer of Hertford, NC.; Phyllis Moyer of Gastonia, NC.; Shirley Martin of Winterville, Ga. and Joyce Hale of Warner Robbins Ga. two brothers: Richard Brooks of Savannah, Ga. and Tommy Brooks of Athens, Ga. thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 6, 1994, at 2:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Thomas Lloyd Chalk will be officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening between 7 and 8:30 in Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake and other times at the home of the daughter Sandra Roundtree, 3333 Mapleton Cres., Chesapeake.
