I read with amusement how Hillary Rodham Clinton was somewhat turned off by the response she received from a Marine Corps recruiter in 1975.
Although Marine recruiters are tasked with selling the Corps as a career opportunity to potential recruits, a good recruiter will screen out very quickly those who don't have what it takes to become Marines.
If being told that ``you are too old, can't see and you're a woman'' intimidated Mrs. Clinton sufficiently to take her military-service interest elsewhere, I cannot imagine how she would have responded to the ``compliments'' she would have endured from the drill instructor who would have been assigned to her at Officer Candidate School!
