EDITH MAY GRAY

Edith May Gray, 82, most recently a resident of Camelot Hall Nursing Home, died July 3, 1994, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Miss Gray was born in Edenton, N.C., but lived most of her life in the Tidewater area.

She was the daughter of the late Edward Lee and Matilda Christine Gray and was employed for 10 years at Goodwill Industries.

She is survived by her sisters, Queen E. Minyard of Chesapeake and Doris H. Smith of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by a brother, Edward S. Gray of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William G. Gray and Wesley H. Gray. She is also survived by nine nieces and one nephew; 18 great-nieces and great-nephews. Although Edith never married and had no children of her own, she played a big part in the raising of her nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Miss Gray was a born-again Christian and a Southern Baptist.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollom-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, Eastern Tidewater Camp, P.O. Box 13461, Chesapeake, VA 23325, c/o Gideons Memorial Bible Chairman.
